Hey guys, welcome to our first blog post and what a car to start on, this 2015 Ford Mustang GT! The car was booked in with us in the summer when one of our regular customers had ordered this car, he was one of the first in the UK to place a deposit and on the waiting list for the first batch of new Mustangs to be built and shipped over from the U.S.
After much delay from Ford he finally had a delivery date, we left the customer strict instructions for the dealership to not touch the car as it was coming in for a New Car Preparation Detail and Gtechniq Protection.
Upon receiving the car and having a moment admiring the newly styled Mustang, with its sportier lines and classic aggressive styling, we finally made a start on the detail. The first job was to give the car a deep clean and thorough decontamination to remove any contaminants that the car may have picked up on its journey here, lucky for us the car was pretty spotless due to being well covered during transit.
We got the car inside under our lighting to inspect the paintwork, the paint was in fairly good condition with only a few dull areas and needed a light polish to really get the best of the deep orange paint. We proceeded with a light machine polish using an array of machines to make sure all the painted surfaces had the best finish possible.
With the paintwork now looking at its best we proceeded with the protection stage, the panels of the car were carefully wiped down to remove any polishing oils and dust to ensure we had the best surface possible for the coatings to bond to. The customer wanted the best protection available to make the car as easy as possible to look after and to keep the car looking new the longest, we opted for Gtechniq C1 as a base layer to give the paintwork a highly durable lacquer to help prevent swirls and scratches, after curing this was then topped up with Gtechniq EXOv2 to leave the paint like silk to touch with amazing hydrophobic properties.
With the paintwork complete it was time to move onto the rest of the car, for the glass we opted for Koch Chemie Nano-Glasversiegelung Glass Sealant courtesy of Shop’n’Shine. With this being a new product to us, Dom from Shop’n’Shine along with Gaz from G.S Media came in to grab a short video of the application and results of the coating (video at the bottom of the post). We were impressed with the results!
The wheels were coated in Gtechniq C5 Wheel armour and all the plastics were coated in EXOv2, we also gave the interior a complete Gtechniq protection detail, covering all the plastics in C6 Matte Dash, the carpets were coated in I1 Smart Fabric and the leathers were treated and protected with L1 Leather Guard.
The final results as you can see are absolutely stunning, the customer was ecstatic with the results and can rest assured the the car has had the best start to life in this country and will be protected for years to come!
